My name is Kimberly Nurse. I am a Nationally Certified and
Licensed Massage Therapist and the owner of Tranquil Touch. I graduated from the
Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy in September of
2008. From there, I obtained my certification in Prenatal/Postpartum Massage at the Springfield
Technical Community College in Massachusetts. There, the training was hosted by
Carol Osborne-Sheets, who is well known for
her immense knowledge of pregnancy massage. She was awarded the
AMTA Teacher of the Year for 2008 and has
written several books. Carol has her own massage therapy school in California.
After a very intense training in August /September 2010, I earned my certifications as a National Infant Massage Instructor and Pediatric Massage Therapist at the Bancroft School for Massage Therapy in Massachusetts. Tina Allen, owner of The Liddle Kidz Foundation was the instructor. Tina is very dedicated and passionate about her work and travels around the world teaching therapists and caregivers the joy of Infant and Pediatric Massage. She works with orphanages in many different countries to give compassionate and nurturing touch to children who truly need it. It was a great honor to be able to learn this special certification from Tina.
I am a mom, a wife, a caregiver and a therapist and I am very passionate about being all of these things! Losing both my parents at an early age, building our own house, having been a wife for 17 years and being a mom for 15 years, so far, I am very familiar with the ups and downs one can go through in the daily routine with children, family and life in general. Finding time for YOU is near impossible and experiencing the luxury of massage and exercise is often looked upon as just a dream. Time, money and busy schedules are sometimes the cause of putting ourselves on the back burner. It is because of this that I feel a deep sense of compassion for families and all that they go through. I am working VERY hard to bring massage into the family structure.
I am looking to change the mindset of everyone that Massage is a Necessity, NOT a Luxury and that it CAN be affordable, to anyone, on any budget. In July 2011, I developed the “Healthy Rate Program” which allows you to achieve your goals for feeling your best, in a time frame that works for your busy schedule, and most importantly, at a cost that you can afford. With the Healthy Rate, you can receive massage from 20 to 90 minute long sessions. You pay full price just one time, and then any time after that, you get the “Healthy Rate”, which is $10-$15 off the original price depending on how long you come in for. You will always receive the “Healthy Rate” as long as you come in on a regular basis. (at least once a month.) And yes, a 20 minute massage is VERY beneficial, relaxing, and effective. You don’t have to receive massage for an hour to see results!
Hopefully, with the Healthy Rate Program, more people will start receiving massage on a regular basis because they need it, and now, can afford it and not just because they got a gift certificate for their birthday or a holiday.
I hope to see you soon and if you have questions about the Healthy Rate, please don’t hesitate to call or email me to ask questions!
